English-Speaking Vehicle Damage Assessor in Slovenia
Client communication in English, German or Polish. The report itself follows the insurer handling the claim — a German policy means a German report — with local-language documents attached as translated annexes. First response within 2 hours.
What actually matters in Slovenia
Slovenia's value in this campaign is speed. It is close enough that an appraiser reaches a vehicle in the Soča valley or at Bled quickly, and that speed is exactly what a flash flood claim needs — the water line, the state of the floor and the position of the vehicle all have to be recorded before anything is moved or cleaned.
The language rule
The report is written for whoever settles the claim. A German comprehensive policy means a German report, whatever country the damage happened in. Police records, garage estimates and site operator statements obtained locally are attached with translation rather than summarised away. You are dealt with in the language you choose.
Practicalities on the ground
EU member, euro, no customs complication. Slovene is the working language; German is widely understood in the alpine tourist areas and English in the trade. A motorway vignette is required and applies to the recovery vehicle as well. Local workshops handle cars well and motorhome bodies rarely, which is the practical reason repair here is usually not the answer.
Camping Slovenia
Slovenia is small, dense and geographically extreme for its size: Julian Alps and the Soča valley in the north-west, Bled and Bohinj in the Gorenjska lakes, thermal spa country in the east, and a short strip of Adriatic coast. German and Austrian traffic passes through it in volume on the way to Croatia and stops in it in growing numbers.

How it works here
- Send photographs and your location by WhatsApp. First response within 2 hours.
- Triage: is the vehicle safe to move, and what must be secured before it is touched.
- On-site inspection, normally 48-72 hours from instruction.
- Report in the language of the insurer handling the claim, with translated annexes.
- If the amount is disputed: expert determination under section 84 VVG.
Comprehensive cover rests on your contract rather than on anyone's liability. The insurer bears the cost of the assessor it appoints; an independently commissioned appraisal is, as a rule, commissioned and paid for by the policyholder. We quote a fixed price before any work begins. Detail on that is on who pays for the appraisal.
Damage now? Send photographs before the vehicle is moved.
This page describes the standard pattern of the German motor insurance market and is general information, not advice on your individual contract. Cover always follows your own policy conditions.
