What actually matters in Netherlands

The Dutch peculiarity is season. Storm damage here peaks in the months when most owners are not with their vehicle — in winter storage, on a seasonal pitch, or at a site closed for the season. Damage is frequently discovered weeks after it happened, which puts a premium on establishing the date and cause properly. English is the natural working language between a German owner and a Dutch site or workshop.

The language rule

The report is written for whoever settles the claim. A German comprehensive policy means a German report, whatever country the damage happened in. Police records, garage estimates and site operator statements obtained locally are attached with translation rather than summarised away. You are dealt with in the language you choose.

Practicalities on the ground

EU member, euro, no complications. Dutch is the working language with English near-universal and German widely spoken. The Dutch caravan and motorhome trade is large, well organised and technically strong — this is a country where local repair is genuinely competitive and worth pricing.

Camping Netherlands

The Netherlands is the highest-density camping country in this campaign and the one where the German visitor is closest to home.
