Traffic accident in Poland – how to behave?

Few of us know how to behave if you are involved in an accident or collision car.

How to behave at such an event?

• Stop the car, switch off the engine, turn on emergency lights, leaving the car to pay attention, if there is no danger from other traffic participants.
• Give aid to the injured, if not suffered major damage. If the damage is significant, you should immediately call an ambulance and the police calling the emergency number 112. If the condition of the victims allows it to be transported the injured to safety. However, if there are fatalities for the arrival of the police, do not move anything.

We should note that failure to provide first aid to the victims of the accident is a crime.

• Secure the scene of the accident so that located on the street damaged cars do not endanger other road users, turn on emergency lights, warning triangle set, if necessary, enlist the help of other traffic participants. If there is such a possibility should push the damaged cars off the road onto the shoulder.
• Call the police if there is a need for such. There is no agreement between the victims of the guilt, there is a danger that the offense was committed, if any participant is under the influence of alcohol or in the case where the accident occurred the fault of the foreigner. This is important because having a note from the police will have it easier to get compensation from a foreign insurance company.
• Write down all the necessary data of all participants of the event: name, address, car registration numbers, insurance policy numbers, names and addresses of witnesses to the accident. Where possible, it is good to do a scene photos.

We should remember that all participants in a traffic accident are obliged to give other participants their data.

• It is unreasonable to signing any documents on the spot.
• Call roadside assistance if damaged cars are not suitable for further driving.
